- The properties of Tribulus Terrestris as a Male Aphrodisiac:
Tribulus Terrestris help to regulate sexual energy levels and sexual strength by increasing the percentage of free available testosterone levels for men and it even affect pregnenolone, progesterone, and estrogen. The aphrodisiac activity of protodioscin has been suggested to be effective through androgen enhancement and nitric oxide release from nerve endings of corpus cavernous tissue.- DO, Jungmo; et al. Effects and Mechanism of Action of a Tribulus Terrestris Extract on Penile Erection. Korean journal of urology, 2013, 54.3: 183-188. PMID:23526694
Conclusions: The T. terrestris extract induced concentration-dependent relaxation of the CC in an organ bath. The mechanism included a reaction involving the nitric oxide/nitric oxide synthase pathway and endothelium of the CC. Moreover, in an in vivo study, the T. terrestris extract showed a significant concentration-dependent increase in ICP. Accordingly, the T. terrestris extract may improve erectile function.

- The properties of Eurycoma Longifolia as a Male Aphrodisiac:
Eurycoma Longifolia improves spermatogenesis by affecting the hypothalamic-pituary-gonadal axis. It improves testosterone by inhibiting aromatic conversion of testosterone to ostrogen and may also involve phosphodiestrase inhibition. The extracts of tongkat Ali affects male infertility by suppressing α-2HS glycoprotein expression which thereby increases testosterone level and insulin sensitivity.- THU, Hnin Ei; et al. Conclusion: The traditional use of E. longifolia as aphrodisiac and for male sexual disorders might be in part due to the ROCK-II inhibitory potential. - CHIOU, Wen‐Fei; WU, Tian‐Shung. 9-hydroxycanthin-6-one Induces Penile Erection and Delays Ejaculation. The journal of sexual medicine, 2012, 9.4: 1027-1036. PMID:21569213
Conclusion: 9-HC-6-one might be the active component that contributed to the aphrodisiac effect of E. longifolia by antagonizing the smooth muscle tone of CC as well as SV probably through interfering with Ca2+ mobilization.
