The properties of Vincamine
Vincamine is a nootropic monoterpenoid indole alkaloid found in the leaves of Vinca minor (dwarf periwinkle, lesser periwinkle), comprising about 25-65% of its indole alkaloids by weight. It can also be synthesized from related alkaloids. It is related to the nootropic vinpocetine. Vincamine is sold in Europe as a memory enhancing prescription medicine for the treatment of primary degenerative and vascular dementia, in the US as a dietary supplement approved by the FDA for uses of 6 months or less, and as a generic drugs in some regions.
